Calgary Best Brow Lamination Waxing Tinting YYC Freckle Face
  • Honestly, this just might be the most versatile brow service out there that offers low maintenance, high performing and FLUFFY results. It is a semi permanent solution that lifts and realigns your natural hair flow by softening the hair structure, holding it in place. Not only is it a high performing alternative to gel, but it essentially mercerizes each hair. As it straightens every hair to its maximum length and volume, it creates a more smooth and full brow. We believe in brows that you can live in. Low maintenance, lamination lasts up to 8 weeks for the kind of effortless “I woke up like this” option without committing to an invasive service.

  • Who is lamination good for?

    • Those with unruly hair and desire to redirect their hair flow (a common concern for those with downward growth).

    • Those with thin or sparse brows to maximize each hair for an editorial, brushed up, fuller look by filling any gaps.

    • Those ready to simplify their brow routine (think less product and a longer lasting result - especially with a brow tint)

    • Those who are not quite ready to commit to permanent make up - with enough hair, lamination gives a high impact and is non invasive.

    • Those waiting for old PMU to fade, as it is the perfect cover up option to avoid going larger and darker at your next PMU session

    • Those with PMU, combined, the lamination can compliment your natural brow hair for the ultimate low maintenance service (we call this “The Fluffy Combo”)

    Does lamination have any contraindications?

    • Lamination cannot be combined with Henna or permanent hair dye products as it will impact the integrity of your hair. Please give your brows 10-12 weeks to cycle out before the lamination process.

      • We can use our natural or hybrid tint, but for best results, we recommend applying the tint one week following your lamination to avoid any breakage.

    • With any allergies or sensitive skin, we recommend a patch test prior to the service. Completion during your Brow Design would be a great time to test for any sensitivities.

      • Think psoriasis, excema, cystic acne, recent burn or skin treatments like laser or chemical peels, etc.

    • Lamination cannot be performed on anyone pregnant or nursing. We would love to show you our Signature Scout styling tips while you care for your little one.

    • Recent PMU requires the skin to have healed for 6 weeks prior to any lamination.

    • Extremely coarse, dry brows can be difficult to laminate and may kink from the service.

Are there any contraindications to tinting with Lamination?

    • Henna / Hair color (including “Just For Men”) is not recommended up to 12 weeks prior to lamination. Please let us know if you have recently used any hair dye products as it can cause hair loss or damage.

  • What should I expect the process to be like?

    • Each session is about 40 minutes, depending on any additional services. Interested in a tint (and/or) tidy? We got you.

      • We do recommend all new clients beginning with a Brow Design to craft your bespoke shape and a patch test. Best tinting results occur a week following your lamination session to avoid any breakage.

    • Fresh out of the studio your brows will look glossy and sleek. This is short lived from our final setting solution. After time they will soften up, but if you love that glossy look, apply our brow balm.

    • Every person has unique circumstances, lifestyles and biology. Anticipate that results vary from person to person, but typically ranges from 4-8 weeks.

    • Fluffy AF (and fun) results. You would never known you had THAT much hair. Your reflection will be getting all the double takes, so prepare for us to be in a long term relationship.

What is the secret to longevity?

    • Being prepared goes a long way. Please arrive with freshly washed hair and clean brows and if you have sensitive skin, your patch test complete

    • Aftercare is king for the best results, so follow by:

      • Keeping your brows dry for 48 hours

      • Switch your cotton pillow case for silk to avoid any breakage (plus your skin and hair will thank me)

      • Use our complementary after care balm 1-2 times a day. This silky balm is made using ultra nourishing, all natural, vegan and cruelty free ingredients (coconut, shea butter, olive oil, vitamin E, lavender, frankincense and tea tree oil)

      • Consider creating a brow mask (we recommend olaplex 3) by conditioning your brows once a week in the shower.

      • Getting in touch with your brow cycle so you aren’t surprised when new growth comes in and the laminated hair softens up. As time goes on, it will look more natural and textured.

    • Daily maintenance is as simple as WET+SET.

      • WET: After the 48 hours, a little misting (or fresh from the shower) is required to get them in place. Especially if they’re a little wild from sleep.

      • SET: Simply brush your brows into place with a spoolie in your desired direction. The lamination has softened the hair to be pliable to be as fluffy or sleek as you want.

    • Honoring your brow cycle to maintain the integrity of your brow health. Refreshing your lamination is recommended after 8 weeks.

  • The lash lift must be the most underrated lash service out there. If you’re unsure about extensions or haven’t mastered your lash curler, this low maintenance service could be just what you’re looking for. Opening up your eyes and enhancing your natural lashes by lifting them to curl outward - essentially a perm for your lashes without damaging your lashes over time. Expect thicker and longer results after 3 services due to our keratin peptide serum. High performing and undemanding, expect the lift to last 6-8 weeks, efficacy depending on the strength and weight of your lashes. Add on a tint for an additional $20 and ditch your mascara.

    Are there any contraindications?

    • Allergies (think reactions to previous lifts or extensions) or skin sensitivities

    • Claustrophobia (eyes must be closed for ~45 mins)

    • Conjunctivitis (pink eye), stye or otherwise infected

    • Contact lenses must be removed prior

    • Pregnant (it has not been clinically approved)

    • Prescribed medicated eye drops + other medications (think accutane, thyroid medications, etc.)

    • Recent laser eye surgery (must wait for 6 weeks until eyes are fully healed)

  • What should I expect the process to be like?

    • Each session is about 30 -45 minutes, depending on any additional services. Interested in a tint? We got you.

    • Arrive barefaced with clean lashes

    • A silicone rod is aligned to the lash line and the lashes are glued down the a silicone shield.

    • Lifting serum is applied to the root of the lashes. This perming solution softens the protein bond to realign the lashes.

    • Setting serum is applied and processes to restructure the bond, locking the lashes into shape.

    • Moisturizing keratin peptide solution is applied to protect and enhance lash structure.

    • Water-soluble glue is removed and tinted if desired

    What is the aftercare like?

    • Be gentle and avoid rubbing / itching

    • Keep your lashes hydrated with castor oil or lash serum

    • Sleep on your back and skip the eye mask

    • Keep your lashes dry for 24 hours (including heat or steam)

    • Styling tutorial for your every day needs

  • All tidy services include waxing, threading + / or tweezing to clean up the surrounding shape that we have mapped out using our Signature balancing technique

    • Retinol and AHA products

    • Accutane

    • Sun burn

    • Glycolic acid

    • Chemical peels + other facial services

    • Rosacea, excema + other skin sensitivities

  • The short answer: Hair removal maintenance sessions are typically between 4-6 weeks, although others can go longer between, depending on your growth cycle.

The long answer: The hair growth cycle is about 12 weeks - the slowest hair growth rate in the entire body. This is why when things go wrong, it’s “not just hair” because it takes time (and just might not grow back). The cycle has three phases:

    • Phase 1: Anagen | The hair follicle is active and the root divides quickly, adding hair to the shaft. This phase determines the length of the hair, lasting between 30-45 days.

    • Phase 2: Catagen | A short period at the end of anagen where the hair is cut off from the blood supply, shrinking the hair follicle. This can be a shedding period.

    • Phase 3: Telogen | The resting period that can last between 2-4 months. It does not grow and remains inactive until the capillaries in the dermal papilla reactivate into Anagen.

With the understanding of our growth cycle we can pay attention to when we are have new growth and shedding periods. We want to train each hair to follow it’s natural cycle. If there has been damage to the follicle, little new growth happens. Regular tweezing gets the schedule off track and you are now on the hamster wheel.

    • Retire your tweezers in between sessions. This ensures your hair will be on the same cycle and stops new growth popping up at different rates. There is also less chances of the wrong hair continuously being over tweezed and your shape goals in tact.

    • Prebook your next session. It will give you accountability and motivation to leave your tweezers alone, sticking to our plan.

  • Hybrid Tint is similar to henna, as it stains the skin up to 7 days, but it is also like a traditional tint that lasts on the hair between 3 - 6 weeks and is viable with lamination as it is ammonia free.

  • Is this even a question? We are named Freckle Face after all, but if you’re unsure, make sure to check out Dayna’s own face. She made sure to pioneer the service on herself first. If you are looking for believably natural freckles, this is the place. Asymmetric and wabi sabi is the key to building realistic freckles that don’t leave you with polka dots later.

    What is the process like?

    • After applying numbing cream, we will map out your desired freckle pattern and sprinkle your face with sun kissed freckles through our nano tattooing technique that is essentially painless.

    Are there any restrictions?

    • Accutane within one year + thin / mature skin

    • Within 24 hours | Red, swollen, feels like a sunburn, as the open wound oxidizes, the color will deepen

    • Within a few days | Flaking or scabbing may begin, feeling quite itchy. As the top layer of skin rejuvenates, the color may start to feel like it is disappearing - the wound is closing, therefore diffusing the color and shrinking the strokes.

    • Within one week | Top layer of skin should be healed, freckles are looking softer.

    • Within six weeks | Under layers of skin where the pigment has been implanted will have been healed and color will have deepened to its final results.

    • Be mindful of sleeping on your face to ensure they do not prematurely rub off for lighter results. We recommend using a silk pillow case.

    • Protect your freckles using sunscreen once they are fully healed.

    • Avoid Intensive exercising, swimming and / or sweating during the first week.

    • Avoid make up, soaps, cleansers, creams or around the tattooed area. Wait until the superficial wound is healed before any facial treatments.

Calgary Best Microblading Freckle Face
Calgary Lash Lift Lamination Brows Freckle Face
  • Microblading is the balayage of brows. Expect lived in, seamless blends and effortlessly natural results. It is a semi permanent make up process of implanting pigment beneath the surface of the skin through tiny, sterile, disposable needles to create natural hair like strokes. As the pigment is only deposited into the first 2 dermal layers of skin, it will naturally fade with time.

  • Who is microblading best suited for?
